Despite a very hectic off-season and a lot of team changes, a question remained, where Eero REMES (SF) would end up after the official announcement of his non-renewal at TM Factory...
Rumours were rife that the reigning E2 World Champion could well retire. But finally the news has arrived and the answer is team Yamaha Johansson MPE - who have just announced that Eero REMES is the top rider they’ve been looking for in the 2019 season!
The Finn will represent Yamaha in EnduroGP category, although it’s not yet known whether he will ride the WR250F or the WR450F. It is in any case a great coup for the Swedish team managed by Joakim JOHANSSON.
In addition to Eero REMES, the Johansson MPE team will have no fewer than six riders in 2019! Starting with the sensation of the 2018 season finale, Australia's Wil RUPRECHT. In view of the talent he displayed in Rüdersdorf (Germany), RUPRECHT is expected to be one of the big favourites for the Junior title. He is expected to ride in J1 with the 250, and he will be supported in this category by Britain’s Alex WALTON, while the Estonian Priit BIENE will represent the team in J2.
In Youth 125cc, JOHANSSON will continue to run with Marcus ADIELSSON (S) as well as adding in Hugo SVÄRD (SF), formerly of Kytönen Motorsport.
Finally, the team will also register a rider in the all-new Enduro Open World Cup in the form of Patrik ANDERSSON (S) - he’ll run in the veteran’s +37 years class.
The Johansson MPE team have decided to put a lot of effort into the 2019 season, in order to shine bright on the international stage with Yamaha. And no doubt that with riders such as Eero REMES and Wil RUPRECHT, the ‘blu cru’ should be on many podiums this year!
